Baseball Recap: Princeville Takes a Loss

Princeville extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 10-14-1 in the process. They came up short against the Farmington Farmers, falling 12-2. The Princes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Farmers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Farmington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Farmington's part, Landon Crawford made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Crawford was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Lambin, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jonah Welker, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Princeville will take on Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Princes are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Farmington, they will be playing at home against Eureka at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
