Montcalm has gone a perfect 8-0 against Bluefield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Generals will welcome the Beavers at 5:30 p.m. Montcalm has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Montcalm made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mount View, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Generals fell just short of the Golden Knights by a score of 11-9 on Monday. The Generals' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bluefield). They never let Mingo Central get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Beavers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Maddie Lawson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Olivia English was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bluefield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Bluefield's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Montcalm, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Montcalm beat Bluefield 9-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
