The University Red Devils will square off against the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

University heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to Saint Mary's. The Red Devils' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

While University had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Woodcreek faced Rocklin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Timberwolves came up short against the Thunder, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Timberwolves have suffered since October 14, 2024.

University will have to keep a close watch on Samantha Campanale and Madison Walsh, a pair of players who had a big impact on Woodcreek's prior game. Campanale had 17 digs and two assists, while Walsh had three digs and two aces. Walsh has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Woodcreek's defeat dropped their record down to 38-6. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 23-5.
