Softball Recap: Hayward Takes a Loss

Hayward lost against Spooner back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Rails by a score of 4-3. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hayward's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Spooner, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Hayward will face off against St. Croix Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Spooner, they will challenge Cumberland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.76 runs per game on average), something the Rails will no doubt try to take advantage of.
