Basketball Game Preview: Western Wildcats vs. Cypress Bay Lightning

The Western Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cypress Bay Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Western will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Western made off with a 1-0 victory over Flanagan. The one-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Cypress Bay unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Wednesday. They came up short against Blanche Ely, falling 44-23.

Western will have to contain Danielle Oz as she made an impact in Cypress Bay's last game. She went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points and seven boards.

Western's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points per game. As for Cypress Bay, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.
