Baseball Recap: McComb Takes a Loss

After flying high against Vanlue on Monday, McComb came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 7-4 to the New Riegel Blue Jackets on Saturday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

McComb's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for New Riegel, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McComb will take on Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Riegel, they will welcome Danbury at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.57 runs per game on average), something the Blue Jackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
