Soccer Recap: Eight Straight Road Wins for Medina Valley

Medina Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the San Marcos Rattlers by a goal, winning 1-0. Given Medina Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while San Marcos are ranked 262nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Medina Valley's one-goal win came courtesy of Cari Schott, who's now up to 33 this season.

Medina Valley's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those eight games. As for San Marcos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9-2.

Looking ahead, Medina Valley will challenge Veterans Memorial on Monday. Veterans Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Medina Valley surely won't give up without a fight. San Marcos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
