Basketball Game Preview: Triway Titans vs. Canton South Wildcats

The Triway Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Canton South Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Triway has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Canton South will arrive with three straight victories.

Last Saturday, Triway was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-34 to Waynedale.

Meanwhile, Canton South earned a 33-25 win over Marlington on Saturday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Dukes are ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton South's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Triway, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Triway beat Canton South 57-45 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Triway since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
