Baseball Game Preview: Bullitt East Chargers vs. Eastern Eagles

The Bullitt East Chargers will face off against the Eastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bullitt East's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Eastern's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bullitt East fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Holy Cross on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 9-8. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Colin Feger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Holland, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Eastern faced Ballard in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Eagles lost 11-0 to the Bruins. The match marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Eastern's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. As for Bullitt East, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4-1.

Bullitt East took their victory against Eastern when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
