            Football Recap: Kingswood Oxford Wyverns vs. St. Paul's Big Red        
        
		
        
        
            Kingswood Oxford was not the first on the board  on Saturday, but they got there more often. They snuck past the St. Paul's Big Red with  a  24-20 victory. The  win was all the more spectacular given the Wyverns' disadvantage  in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 57th in Connecticut, while the Big Red are ranked ninth in New Hampshire).
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingswood Oxford to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Xavier Hernandez-Newton, who picked up 169 receiving yards and two  touchdowns. Hernandez-Newton really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 92 yards. Another passer making a difference was  Justin Ocasio, who threw for 334 yards and three  TDs.
The  victory made it two in a row for Kingswood Oxford and  bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 33.0 points over those games. As for St. Paul's, they suffered their first road  loss, dropping their record down to 3-2.
 Coming up, Kingswood Oxford will square off against New Hampton School at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for St. Paul's, they will take on Tabor Academy at 3:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The Big Red will need to watch out since the Seawolves have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season.
