Softball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Gets the Win

Perry-Lecompton won the last time they faced Royal Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Kaws walked away with a 6-2 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Kaws.

Olivia Hart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Perry-Lecompton let Macie Corcoran and Jolie Corcoran run wild. Macie went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Jolie went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Perry-Lecompton back to even at 11-11. As for Royal Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Perry-Lecompton will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrence at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Royal Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
