Basketball Recap: Northside Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Northside lost against Mundy's Mill back in February of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northside Patriots fell to the Mundy's Mill Tigers 62-57.

Despite the defeat, Northside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Xavier Davies went 5 of 10 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davies has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lansaua Nabe, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Mundy's Mill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christopher Johnson, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Michael Gray was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Northside's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7. As for Mundy's Mill, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will host Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mundy's Mill, they will welcome Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Griffin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
