Recap: Liberty Charter Lions vs. Cristo Rey

The Liberty Charter Lions had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Cristo Rey with a sharp 50-25 win on Thursday. The win was just what Liberty Charter needed coming off of a 63-23 defeat in their prior match.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joel Bray, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Duke Dengerink was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Liberty Charter's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Cristo Rey, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Liberty Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocean View Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cristo Rey, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern California Yeshiva at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
