Baseball Game Preview: Lawrence Central Bears vs. North Central Panthers

For the second straight game, Lawrence Central will face off against North Central. The Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lawrence Central has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lawrence Central managed to slip by North Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Bears' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

For North Central's part, Tristan Wilson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Wilson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Abel Flessner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rykin Matthias, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

North Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Central's record now sits at 14-7. As for Lawrence Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
