Preview: Hendrickson vs. Elgin
Hendrickson is 7-0 against Elgin since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hendrickson Hawks will be playing at home against the Elgin Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. Hendrickson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Hendrickson's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Pflugerville Connally by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Hendrickson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Pflugerville Connally is ranked 27th).
Meanwhile, Elgin fell victim to Pflugerville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a tough 4-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers.
Hendrickson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-3 record this season. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-3.
Hendrickson took their win against Elgin when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 5-1. Does Hendrickson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elgin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
