Boyd County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Ironton Fighting Tigers. Considering the Lions have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Boyd County, bringing their record up to 25-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ironton, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.

Coming up, Boyd County will face off against Raceland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Lions have won 13 straight at home, while the Rams won eight straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Ironton, they will take on Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
