Softball Recap: Brooke Point Takes a Loss

Brooke Point extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They fell 8-4 to the Stafford Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on April 4th.

Lexi Halston (Shenandoah University spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, Naudia Mullins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Stafford, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

On Stafford's side, the team relied heavily on Kaylan Wolff, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Wolff a new career-high. Claire Hall also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Brooke Point wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-6 victory against Massaponax on the 2nd. As for Stafford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 loss against Eastern View on the 2nd.
