Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Spartans vs. Line Mountain Eagles

The St. Joseph Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Line Mountain Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Wednesday, St. Joseph came up short against Rochester and fell 8-3. The Spartans have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Luca Schiano Di Cola made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Greenwood hit Line Mountain with a six-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Wildcats, falling 16-5. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Line Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

St. Joseph suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Line Mountain when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
