Soccer Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Hickory Hawks, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Lakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Hickory are ranked 21st).

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hickory, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2-2.

Coming up, Lakeland will head out to take on Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hickory, they will welcome Western Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
