Basketball Recap: Southeast Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Southeast won against Baxter Springs last Saturday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Southeast Lancers walked away with a 58-50 victory over the Baxter Springs Lions. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by exactly eight points.

Southeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Warner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Warner is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Blake Robinson was another key player, putting up 14 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Southeast, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. As for Baxter Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7-1.

Southeast will take on Parsons in a tournament on Thursday. Parsons knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Southeast likes a good challenge. As for Baxter Springs, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverton on January 31st.
