K.J. Costello, the No. 33 recruit overall in the 247Sports Composite, committed to Stanford today in an announcement held at Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.).

He picked the Cardinal over USC and Michigan.

The 6-foot-5, 223-pound quarterback threw for 3,123 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior, going up against a difficult Trinity League schedule.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball pegged Costello to Stanford at a 70-percent clip.

Costello is the second commitment for the Cardinal for the Class of 2016, joining Florida defensive tackle Bo Peek.
