Carter-Riverside came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Western Hills Cougars 15-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 on Tuesday.

Jesus Ojeda spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carter-Riverside let Santos Martinez and Sergio Casillas run wild. Martinez got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Casillas got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Logan Ruiz was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Carter-Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive games.

Carter-Riverside's record is now 14-5. As for Western Hills, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
