Basketball Game Preview: O'Connor Eagles vs. Sunnyslope Vikings + Official Tickets

The O'Connor Eagles will face off against the Sunnyslope Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

O'Connor is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They were beaten by Ontario Christian 92-40.

Meanwhile, Sunnyslope gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past TMI-Episcopal 64-42. The matchup was close at halftime, but the Vikings turned on the heat in the second half with 40 points.

Sunnyslope's win came from a few key players O'Connor will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maggie Luba, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 18 boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (seven). Shannon McIlroy was another key player, putting up 16 points and eight steals.

O'Connor didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sunnyslope when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
