            Baseball Preview: Lumberton Raiders vs. Jasper Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            The Lumberton Raiders will take on the Jasper Bulldogs at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last four games Lumberton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Lumberton is probably headed into the  game with a chip on their shoulder considering Silsbee just ended the team's  three-game winning streak  on Friday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of  10-8. The pitching woes were  uncharacteristic for the Raiders, who until this  match were averaging 3.72  runs allowed.
 Luke Cody made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in February.  Ryan Verde also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Cody wasn't the only one working in the  hit department: Lumberton  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They came up short against  Vidor, falling  11-3.
 Jasper now  has a losing record of 8-9. As for Lumberton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-1.
 Lumberton took their  win against Jasper  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024 by a conclusive  14-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lumberton since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
