Baseball Recap: Hoboken Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Hoboken barely beat McNair Academic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redwings blew past the Cougars 9-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Redwings have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Max Casazza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Casazza was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, William Herrera was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Jayden Ulloa was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.

Hoboken lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Hoboken's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season. As for McNair Academic, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Hoboken will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
