Soccer Game Preview: St. Monica vs. Magnolia Science Academy

The St. Monica Mariners will face off against the Magnolia Science Academy Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Monica is coming into the game hot, having won their last 13 games.

St. Monica is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past New Roads 4-1. Considering the Mariners have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit New Roads with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Giovannie Sotomayor (2), Ben Elmaleh, and Jack Milligan.

Meanwhile, Magnolia Science Academy kept a clean sheet against Santa Rosa Academy on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Rangers. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly two goals.

St. Monica's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those seven matches. As for Magnolia Science Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
