Basketball Recap: Northville Takes a Loss

Northville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 70-48 to the Belleville Tigers on Thursday. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-17.

Despite the loss, Northville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Ross posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Ross a new career-high in assists (two). Nikki Schade also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Even though they lost, Northville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their first loss (out of nine games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Northville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Belleville, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

As of now, neither Northville nor Belleville have any future games scheduled.
