Recap: Miller County Pirates vs. Brooks County Trojans
The Miller County Pirates fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Brooks County Trojans on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Trojans 64-60. Miller County just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Miller County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden McCray, who scored 18 points. The game was McCray's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamarion Shephard, who scored 13 points.
It was another big night for Kanilyn Jones, who scored 20 points along with three steals for Brooks County. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Demarrion Washington was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Miller County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Brooks County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Miller County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Thomasville at 8:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Brooks County will finish 2023 at home by hosting North Florida Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
