Basketball Recap: Hendrickson Takes a Loss

Hendrickson fought the good fight in their overtime game against Bowie on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 83-78 to the Bulldogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Hendrickson lost, don't look at Ryan Longoria. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-11 en route to 21 points. Thanks to that strong game, Longoria now owns an excellent 47.4% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was DJ Hardge, who posted ten points along with five assists and three steals.

Hendrickson's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Bowie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Hendrickson will be taking part in a tournament against Medina Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bowie, they will take on Reagan in a tournament on Thursday.
