Basketball Recap: Southern Takes a Loss

If Southern was riding high fresh off their 41-20 takedown of East Palestine last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southern Indians were dealt a 58-25 defeat at the hands of the River Pilots on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 68-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Southern has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for River, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Southern will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Toronto at 6:00 p.m. As for River, they will take on Catholic Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
