Baseball Recap: Grand Terrace Gets the Win

Grand Terrace came out on top against Rialto on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Titans walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Knights. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-2 victory on Wednesday.

Colton Caldwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grand Terrace is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Jesse Medina was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Ray Roybal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Grand Terrace and bumps their season record up to 13-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Rialto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Coming up, Grand Terrace will head out to square off against Eisenhower at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Rialto, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Summit at 3:45 p.m.
