Recap: Herron Achaeans vs. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders
Even though the Herron Achaeans have not done well against the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Herron came out on top against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial by a score of 39-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Herron.
Jaycianna Clark continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Trinity Foerster was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ainsley Brown, who scored nine points along with six steals. Brown scored a full 28.1% of Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Journee Thomas, who scored eight points.
Herron has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herron's road trip will continue as they head out to face BELIEVE Circle City at 12:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Tindley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tindley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
