Soccer Recap: Lely's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lely kept a clean sheet against Charlotte on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons out 1-0. The Trojans wouldn't have won without Sergio Canu, who scored the game-winner.

The victory was the third in a row for Lely, bringing their record for this year to 10-4-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Charlotte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lely will head out to take on Cape Coral at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lely is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season. As for Charlotte, they will take on Golden Gate in a tournament on Saturday.
