Baseball Recap: Blackstone Valley Prep Takes a Loss

Blackstone Valley Prep dropped their record down to 12-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the North Smithfield Northmen by a score of 2-1. The PRIDE were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Northmen earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Adrian Fernandez Jimenez was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases. He has become a key player for Blackstone Valley Prep: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise.

As for North Smithfield, their record is now 10-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 12th.

On North Smithfield's side, Dennis Sullivan was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Sullivan a new career-high. Samuel Garrepy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
