Softball Recap: Bath Takes a Loss

Bath extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates. The Fighting Bees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Pewamo-Westphalia, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 11, 2024.

For Pewamo-Westphalia's part, the team relied heavily on Summer Wirth, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that Wirth has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reylee Thelen, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bath is set to challenge their familiar foe Fowler at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Pewamo-Westphalia will face off against rival St. Patrick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
