Soccer Recap: South Takes a Loss

South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mira Costa Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in December of 2024.

South's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Mira Costa, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South has already played their next matchup (against Mira Costa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mira Costa will face off against Redondo Union at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Mira Costa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
