Basketball Game Preview: Loogootee Lions vs. North Daviess Cougars

The Loogootee Lions will face off against the North Daviess Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Loogootee is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Loogootee is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Shoals 58-15 on Thursday. With the Lions ahead 31-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Alaina Diamond and Lydia Hawkins were among the main playmakers for Loogootee as the former dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards and the latter went 8-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Diamond's fourth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Jeffers, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Loogootee was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, North Daviess came up short against Springs Valley on Tuesday and fell 53-42. The Cougars have struggled against the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Loogootee's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for North Daviess, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
