Volleyball Game Preview: Lecanto Panthers vs. Gainesville Hurricanes

Lecanto is 0-3 against Gainesville since September of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will take on the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. Lecanto is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Lecanto is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Vanguard by a score of 3-1.

Lecanto was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 22-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Gainesville got the win against Belleview on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Gainesville took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-8.

Lecanto better keep an eye on Whitney Kinsell. She was instrumental in Gainesville's win, getting nine assists and four aces. Those four aces gave Kinsell a new career-high.

Gainesville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Lecanto's record now sits at 15-9. As for Gainesville, their record is now 16-8.

Lecanto might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Gainesville in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
