Softball Recap: Midtown Knights vs. M.L. King Lions
Midtown put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the M.L. King Lions as the Midtown Knights made off with a 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Megan Bookspun made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Chloe Peyton was incredible, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Maggie Morran was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
