Softball Recap: Miamisburg Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Miamisburg not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024. They blew past the Beavercreek Beavers 11-1. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Beavers last Wednesday, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.

Ryla Zering made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mikaela Holp, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Katie Enneking was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Miamisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beavercreek only posted a batting average of .125.

Miamisburg pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Beavercreek, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Miamisburg will venture away from home to take on Watkins Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Beavercreek, they will be playing at home against Northmont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
