Softball Game Preview: Nevis Tigers vs. Laporte Wildcats

Nevis is 8-2 against Laporte since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Nevis didn't have quite enough to beat Pequot Lakes and fell 5-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Laporte came up short against Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] on Friday, falling 12-2.

Laporte saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tatiyana Weikle, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Tatiana Wright also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Laporte's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Nevis, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Nevis beat Laporte 5-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
