Baseball Recap: Greensburg Has No Trouble Against South Dearborn

It's playoff time, and Greensburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the South Dearborn Knights on Saturday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Lance Coy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joey Everroad, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zayden Miller, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Greensburg's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for South Dearborn, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Coming up, Greensburg will challenge Batesville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.7, the Bulldogs 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. South Dearborn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
