Basketball Recap: Chloe Stegall Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Berea

There's no place like home for Travelers Rest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-38 win over the Berea Bulldogs on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-38 two weeks ago.

Travelers Rest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Stegall, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Stegall has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mabry Mullis, who earned 17 points and five steals.

Travelers Rest was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Travelers Rest's record now sits at 16-10. As for Berea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Looking ahead, Travelers Rest will square off against Wren at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Travelers Rest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Berea does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
