Basketball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 76-55 to the Curlew Cougars. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-15.

Leading Curlew to victory were Logan Ringstad and Sylas Stotts. Ringstad dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Stotts went 9 of 14 en route to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Stotts a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Steven White, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Curlew, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12.

Columbia will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northport at 6:30 p.m. Northport will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Columbia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Curlew, they will venture away from home to take on Selkirk at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Curlew is facing Selkirk at the right time seeing as Selkirk is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
