Volleyball Recap: El Capitan Snags 15th Victory in Last 19 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only El Capitan walked away with it. They came out on top against the Oakmont Vikings by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in March.

El Capitan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25.

El Capitan is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-11 record this season. As for Oakmont, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-11 record.

Looking ahead, El Capitan is taking a road trip to challenge Christian Brothers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Gauchos surely won't give up without a fight. Oakmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
