Baseball Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

Northeast extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 17-5 to the Highland Park Scots. On the bright side, the five- run effort marked the Vikings' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Highland Park's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-1. They haven't had any issues with Northeast recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

For Highland Park's part, Je'Raevion King-Grant was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. King-Grant was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on G'Honi Montgomery, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Donny Fox, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

While Northeast had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
