Bessemer City's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hueytown, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Golden Gophers beat Bessemer City by a score of 18-0 later that day.
