Softball Recap: Summit Spartans vs. Brentwood Bruins

Summit fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Brentwood on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 6-5. That makes it the first time this season the Spartans have let down their home crowd.

Addison Johnson spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Lakyn Canada was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Finleigh Forsyth also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Brentwood, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
