Baseball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Comes Up Short

After flying high against Deltona last Friday, Flagler Palm Coast came back down to earth. Flagler Palm Coast fell 9-6 to DeLand on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against DeLand this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in February.

Flagler Palm Coast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Flis, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Flis a new career-high.

Flagler Palm Coast has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. With the victory, DeLand broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flagler Palm Coast will welcome East River at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DeLand, they will host Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games Bartram Trail has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
