Baseball Recap: Freeman Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Freeman's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hanover Hawks on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Mavericks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Freeman's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Hanover, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Freeman will take on Deep Run at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Hanover, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Varina on the 19th.
